2010/2011 School Year

Wow! We are off to an awesome start at White Oak Primary School. We have many new students this year. Everyone is working hard to be CHAMPs and learn our procedures. During the next few weeks, our teachers will be administering a Universal Screening test in reading and math to help guide our instruction and to know our learners a bit better. I would like to welcome our newest staff member, Cara Munn. Cara is joining our team as a Reading Recovery teacher. Please keep checking our elementary and classroom blogs for current information. This year our theme is, “I can do anything good!”

Awesome 2009/2010 School Year!

The 2009/2010 school year is coming to an end. This year has been enormously successful. I am so proud to be a part of the White Oak Primary Family. We are ending the year off with a bang! Due to the exceptional efforts of some our teachers that presented at the T.C.E.A conference; our school will be focused in a video that The Texas Education Agency will show as an example of outstanding technology integration in the classroom. We are proud of this honor. Our students and teachers are already enjoying the new IPADs and are planning new educational opportunities for next year. We are also expanding the educational opportunities for our students to our new Nature Center. Thanks to the hard work of our students; “Nickels for the Nature Center” raised over $1,800.00. The White Oak Education Foundation has generously donated the funds to build the pavillion for our Nature Center. Wow! The generosity of this community never ceases to amaze me. Thank you W.O.E.F!!! Please remember that our students will be in school and will have an early dismissal on June 1st. That day will also be our End of School Party Day! Have a safe a restful summer! We will see you again for registration on August 4th and 5th.

Spring is here!

Our first graders will be performing “Texas Our Texas” readers theater tonight at 6:30 in the elementary cafeteria. Tomorrow there will be a performance for students and staff at 9:30 a.m. Please remember that spring break is next week! Our students and staff members have been working hard this winter and are ready for a break. When we come back, things will be very busy at the primary school until the end of school.

Date to remember: March 25 – Spring Pictures!

Yesterday, our students celebrated the 100th day of school for 2009/2010.
