About Mrs. Koonce

I am thrilled to work in White Oak and serve the students of our district. Below, you will find a few facts about me.

Family: My husband Kevin and daughter Haley are both graduates of White Oak. Haley attended Tyler Jr. College and graduated from U.T. Arlington.  She is now married to our wonderful son in-law, Will Stewart, and teaches middle school. She and Will are the proud parents of our grandson James!   We love spending time with family and going to Texas Rangers’ games.

School: I am a graduate of Longview H.S., Stephen F. Austin State University, and Texas A&M at Texarkana.

Favorite Activities: spending time with family – cooking out, church activities, movies, shopping with my daughter, and reading

Currently reading: STARTING A MOVEMENT – Building Culture From The Inside Out in Professional Learning Communities by Ken Williams and Tom Hierck

Current favorite quote: “Use your voice for kindness, your ears for compassion, your hands for charity, your mind for truth, and your HEART for love!”

One of my belief statements about school: A strong school and community partnership is essential to educating children in today’s society.

    • Ms. Hatfield,
I’m sorry for the delay in response. At White Oak Primary, we host a Grandparent’s Day for our kindergarten students only. The other grade levels will have different performances or events throughout the year. Keep checking the blogs and our website for information. Thank you!!
